" The Winds of Change"

I had an appointment with my oncologist today, right in the smack dab middle of the day,
I'm not fond of doing things that way...
seems like it just tears up the day and I wanted to work in the yard so bad.
The yard has been neglected for the last year or so due to illness.
I had a bowel resection last March,
spent eight glorious days in the hospital with an NG tube in my stomach.
 I know..gross!
I had a male nurse some of those days that I nick-named Sarge.
That sucka acted something like Jack Nickelson in " A Few Good Men"....ya' know...
A.t.t.i.t.u.d.e. Oh yeah..big time!!!

A day or so after the surgery that should have been done years before..
so it would'nt have had to be "Emergency Surgery"
I'm sleeping like a log when the door bursts open and hits the wall with a resounding whack, and here comes Sarge with his chart in hand. " I gotta get you outta that bed, you'll never get to go home till you get out of that bed...duh...I guess he hadn't noticed all the tubes and direct lines sticking out all over my body..and thus and so.

We all knew I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
We means my daughter was there when Mr.Charm came charging in the door.

She's an RN, so she knows all about this stuff and she told me later that he probably saved my life.
Well, I sez..That's good, cause I wanted to kill him.
I'm upset and yelling " I don't care what he needs to do,
he's not gonna talk to me like that."
UGH!!!
Now what that has to do with cleaning the yard...I ain't got the slightest idear...
I guess I just needed to get it offa my chest..
Again!
Before I could really recover from that.
I had to give up my hubby and best friend in August.
Nobody knows that kinda pain till they been through it.
I miss him sooooo bad...bad!

Well, I did manage to dig out the leaf blower and find the necessary cords that go with it.
and...I did get a lot done, it was a beautiful afternoon...just cool enuf to work...k...
I blew leaves and I blew leaves, and then I blew some leaves again.
And guess what????
Just about dark the North wind hit, and from the sound of it out there..
those leaves are gonna be everywhere come morning.
Unless this is the end of the world ( that's what it sounds like)
In which case I won't care where the blankety blank leaves went.

That's just Oklahoma for ya...
Chicken one day...feathers the next.
UGH!!!
I'm ready for spring and daylight savings time again.
Then I can sit here in my chair...
and watch the North wind tear up everything I did today.

Dang!

See ya tomorrow..
If the house is still standing...

  1. Well, in spite of it all, I am glad Sarge saved your life. Every hospital has a few Sarges!
It sounds like you are doing well, Glenda. I am glad you are feeling like getting out and doing something. I am sure you are still sad and feeling a bit down but Spring should help. xo Diana
ps. Have fun blowing those leaves again!

    1. Hi Diana...I really do love doing that kind of thing...it's painting the ground with a leaf blower...cleans it up so good. HOWEVER..this morning I feel like I got hit by a mack truck...Yeah, I guess old Sarge was ok. I'll gladly leave him to the next patient, tho..
